And then there were two\u2026<\/p>\n

For those following the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition<\/a> in Warsaw, it has been a knuckle-bitter for all contestants, particularly the Canadians<\/p>\n

In an announcement made on October 12, the second round of competition yielded 20 winners from the pool of 43, two of which were Canadians Charles Richard-Hamelin<\/a> (26), and Tony Yike\u00a0Yang<\/a> (16). Toronto-based pianist Annie Zhou (17) did not advance from the second round.<\/p>\n

Stage III of competition runs Oct. 14 through 16. Each contestant will perform a one-hour recital of works by Chopin.<\/p>\n

Each performance will be webcast on the Chopin Institute’s official\u00a0YouTube<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n
