It’s not often that classical music gets programmed on late night television, let alone one of the most popular shows on T.V..<\/p>\n

Last night cellist Yo-Yo Ma<\/a> took to the airwaves on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show<\/em> to celebrate his 60th<\/sup>\u00a0birthday (officially Oct 7th<\/sup>) and promote his new CD Songs of the Arc Life with Kathryn Scott. He performed three works, including the Courante from Bach\u2019s Cello Suite #2, \u201cThe Swan\u201d by Charles-Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns, and Gershwin\u2019s Prelude No. 1, with Jon Batiste and Stay Human.<\/p>\n

The Courant included a dance by Misty Copeland, the first female African-American principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n
