It is designed to appeal equally to those who already love opera and to those who may be tempted to try it for the first time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Users will be able to access live transmissions from over 15 participating European opera companies over 12 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The first simulcast was\u00a0this past Friday with Verdi\u2019s <em>La Traviata<\/em> from Madrid\u2019s Teatro Real. It is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theoperaplatform.eu\/en\/opera\/verdi-la-traviata\" target=\"_blank\">available to free streaming now<\/a> through November 8, 2015. Subtitles are\u00a0available in English, French, German, Italian, Polish or Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>The service plans to feature one new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theoperaplatform.eu\/en\/upcoming\" target=\"_blank\">opera every month<\/a>, and will make them each available for streaming for a period of six months. Upcoming operas\u00a0include: Covent Garden\u2019s production of \u00a0<em>Krol Roger<\/em> (King Roger) by Karol Szymanowski, Vienna Staatsoper\u2019s <em>Gotterdammerung <\/em>by\u00a0Richard Wagner,<em>\u00a0<\/em>Finnish National Opera\u2019s <em>Kullervo <\/em>by\u00a0Jean Sibelius, Latvian National Opera\u2019s <em>Valentina <\/em>by\u00a0Arturs Maskats<em>\u00a0<\/em>and Aix-en-Provence festival in France\u2019s <em>The Abduction from the Seraglio <\/em>by\u00a0Mozart.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>#LUDWIGVAN<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Want more updates on Toronto-centric classical music news and review\u00a0before anyone else finds out?
