Their website tells us\u00a0next to\u00a0nothing about the production, so we\u2019ll have to take their word for it. (ticket required)<\/p>\n<p>Contemporary music lovers will want to check out the Glenn Gould School New Music Ensemble, as they take the stage to present some new music gems by G\u00e9rard Grisey, Alexina Louie, Andr\u00e9 Ristic and Michel van der Aa. Of course, Brian Current will be there to lead the way. | <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/performance.rcmusic.ca\/event\/ggs_new_music\" target=\"_blank\">DETAILS<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Friday 1<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The COSI Connection |<\/span> <em>F\u0171hrerbunker<\/em> (opera) at the Tranzac Club. 7:30 p.m. $20-40<\/p>\n<p>Late last summer, we met up with composer Andrew Ager to talk about his new opera about the final days in Adolf Hitler\u2019s F\u00fchrerbunker. Ager is a fascinating guy, and so is his opera. You can read more about it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/2014\/08\/28\/interview-andrew-ager-on-his-controversial-new-opera-about-the-final-days-in-adolf-hitlers-fuhrerbunker\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. The cast includes Jonathan MacArthur as Adolph Hitler, and Sydney Baedke as Eva Braun. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.co-si.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">DETAILS<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Evgeny Kissin |<\/span> at Roy Thomson Hall. 8:00 p.m. $39.50-149.50<\/p>\n<p>Getting the chance to hear\u00a0Evgeny Kissen play live will be the musical highlight of the week (if not the month). A\u00a0specialist of\u00a0Romantic repertoire, particularly Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Liszt, Kissen&#8217;s has become known for his precise, yet flowing touch. He\u2019ll be performing a program of Beethoven, Prokofiev, Chopin and Liszt at Roy Thomson Hall. You\u2019ll not want to miss this. | <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.masseyhall.com\/eventdetail\/Kissin\" target=\"_blank\">DETAILS<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Saturday 2<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Cecilia String Quartet |<\/span> at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. 12:30 p.m. $40-65<\/p>\n<p>\u0014This\u00a0Saturday afternoon we recommend a day trip to Burlington to see the Cecilia String Quartet fly their flag with\u00a0works by\u00a0Mozart and Mendelssohn. If you get there early (11:45 a.m.) they will be serving a special lunch. Also, stick around after the show for\u00a0take a walk along the Burlington waterfront \u2013 it\u2019s beautiful. | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burlingtonpac.ca\/what-s-on\/event_\/cecilia-string-quartet--csq-_9606.html\" target=\"_blank\">DETAILS<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tallis Choir |<\/span> at St. Patrick\u2019s Church. 7:30 p.m. $10-30<\/p>\n<p>The 35 voices of the Tallis Choir will be taking audiences back to Renaissance France this Saturday, with works by Janequin, Mouton, Sermisy and Goudimel. The event is a benefit concert featuring speakers Boris Brott, Rustom Sethna, Orlando Da Silva, Peter Kristian Mose and Julie Everson, as well as performances by Lauren Margison, Richard Margison, St. Michael&#8217;s School Choir; Michael Bridge, accordion; Alex McLeod, viola; Charissa Vandikas, piano; and others. It\u2019s about the liberation of the Jews from Assyrian captivity, and their renewed faith to Manasseh, as well as Judith, the hero who defeats the invading general Holofernes. For the best sound and views, they recommend choosing an upper or lower balcony seat.
