Tonight she joins American pianist Ryan MacEvoy McCullough, to perform premieres including, <em>Lieder und Arien<\/em> by Toronto\u2019s very own Chris Paul Harman. The duo will be at Walter Hall to perform Schubert, and new work by U of T composition faculty member Chan Ka Nin. Did we mention it\u2019s free? | <a href=\"https:\/\/music.utoronto.ca\/concerts-events.php?eid=199\">DETAILS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Friday 6<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Elmer Iseler Singers |\u00a0<\/span><em>Warrior Songs<\/em> at Walter Hall, Edward Johnson Building. 7:30 p.m. $15-40<\/p>\n<p>The Elmer Iseler Singers are back for their third concert of their season, joining improvising percussionist Jerry Granelli. They will perform the premiere of an epic five-movement concerto\u00a0<em>Warrior Songs,\u00a0<\/em>by composer Peter Togni<em>, <\/em>which\u00a0includes text from Buddhism, Malcolm X and the Roman Catholic Liturgy. We&#8217;d have to agree, Repin is a monster talent, with seemingly endless abilities. He joins pianist Svetlana Smolina to perform Bart\u00f3k\u2019s Violin Rhapsody No.1, Debussy\u2019s Violin Sonata, Ravel\u2019s Tzigane, and Stravinsky\u2019s Divertimento. A big draw will be an opportunity to hear Steve Reich\u2019s mesmerizing Sextet, and Louis\u00a0Andriessen\u2019s<em> Workers Union<\/em>. The event is a celebration of Louis\u00a0Andriessen\u2019s 75th birthday. | <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicgallery.org\/torq-sextet\/\">DETAILS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Saturday 7<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Toronto Symphony Orchestra |<\/span> <em>New Creations Festival: Casual Series: Written on Skin<\/em> at Roy Thomson Hall. 7:30 p.m. $33-145<\/p>\n<p>Closing the Toronto Symphony Orchestra\u2019s new music festival, is a very special opera-in-concert presentation of George Benjamin\u2019s <em>Written on Skin<\/em>. The New Yorker\u2019s Alex Ross called it, \u201cas immaculate as anything that Benjamin has written, or, for that matter, anything composed since the heyday of Ravel.\u201d If that were enough, soprano Barbara Hannigan again\u00a0perform along with Krisztina Szab\u00f3, Lestyn Davies, Isaiah Bell, Christopher Purves, and George Benjamin conducting. As this is a casual concert, so save your fancy pants for another night. After a 25-year hiatus the virtuosi musicians reunited in 2012, and are now here in Toronto to perform a program of piano trios by Mozart, Schumann, Ravel, and Schoenfield. These are three incredible\u00a0musicians and will offer a sure bang for your buck| <a href=\"http:\/\/performance.rcmusic.ca\/event\/ksb_trio\">DETAILS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.Mooredale Concerts |<\/span> <em>The Vienna Piano Trio<\/em> at Walter Hall, Edward Johnson Building. 3:15 p.m. $20-30<\/p>\n<p>The Vienna Piano Trio are one of the most noted trio ensembles in the world, and are best known for their specialization of repertory by composers closely associated with Austria: Brahms, Schubert, and Haydn, and Dvor\u00e1k. Highly recommended for those looking for a true European chamber music experience. | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mooredaleconcerts.com\/\">DETAILS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Tuesday 10<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Music Toronto |\u00a0<\/span><em>Till Fellner <\/em>at Jane Mallett Theatre. 8:00 p.m. $10-55<\/p>\n<p>Over the past few years pianist Till Fellner has dedicated himself mastering Bach\u2019s Well-Tempered Clavier and the 32 piano sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven. Then in 2012 he disappeared from the stage to devote himself to the study of new repertoire and to deepen his knowledge of composition, literature and film. Since then he has become an extraordinary deep and thoughtful artist, who\u2019s talent will grace the Toronto stage for the first time.
