The 44th Annual JUNO Award Nominees <\/a>have just been released. Each will participate in the \u00a02015 JUNO Awards and JUNO Week celebrations over\u00a0March 9-15. The awards will be broadcast on CTV from FirstOntario Centre on Sunday, March 15, 2015.<\/p>\nGoing over the list, there is very strong Canadian competition\u00a0this year in\u00a0all the categories.<\/p>\n
Nominees include\u00a0two different CD’s with TSO concertmaster, Jonathan Crow, who has been heavily expanding his interest in chamber music\u00a0this year. TSO’s new Rimsky-Korsakov CD for the Chandos label is nominated, along with Brian Current’s recording of his opera, Airline Icarus on the Naxos label. Canadian composers,\u00a0Alice Ping Yee Ho, Gordon Fitzell, and\u00a0John Estacio also made the list. In the vocal category,\u00a0Gerald Finley,\u00a0Karina Gauvin,\u00a0Daniel Taylor will be in tight competition.<\/p>\n
