Besides this afternoon&#8217;s weather, their 3 p.m. concert today at the Carlu (once the Eaton Auditorium) should be an event to savour.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The choir, which has been around for 44 years, is joined by some relative newbies: Toronto&#8217;s Choir 21 (led by David Fallis) and, for the premiere of a new work by Paul Frehner, the excellent TorQ Percussion Ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>There are other treats on the programe, ranging from J.S. Bach to Gyorgy Ligeti.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s precious little detail about the concert on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soundstreams.ca\/our_events\/detail.php?id=147\" target=\"_blank\">Soundstream&#8217;s website<\/a>. On Facebook, Soundstreams says that, if you call the boxoffice at 416-408-0208, you can get a second ticket at half-price by quoting the code &#8220;choir50.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One of the pieces is a 16-voice arrangement of Mahler&#8217;s &#8220;Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen&#8221; (which translates loosely as &#8216;I have let go of the world&#8217;).
