It belongs to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bsomusic.org\/musicians\/musician\/katherine-needleman.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Katherine Needleman<\/a>, Principal Oboe of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/entertainment\/arts\/artsmash\/bal-oneofakind-oboe-belonging-to-bso-musician-stolen-20140819,0,1010436.story\" target=\"_blank\">the Sun<\/a>, Ms. Needleman said the\u00a0oboe is a\u00a0one of a kind\u00a0prototype made by Yamaha.\u00a0She believed they knew what they were looking for and it may have been\u00a0stolen while her luggage was being loaded into her\u00a0car.<\/p>\n<p>The thief (or thieves) also took off with a computer as well as some other less valuable items.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Needleman \u00a0said she fears the worst, believing the one-of-a-kind instrument would not be that valuable as it does not carry a\u00a0serial number. \u201cI don\u2019t think you could sell it for more than a couple hundred bucks, really,\u201d she told the Sun.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks ago, we <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/2014\/07\/30\/just-in-prized-oboe-stolen-in-montreal\/\" target=\"_blank\">reported <\/a>that an oboe owned by Ron Cohen Mann\u00a0had also been stolen in Montreal. A plea went out with a hefty reward,\u00a0but it has yet to be recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Oddly, Needman\u2019s oboe was stolen just three blocks away from where Mann\u2019s was also stolen.<\/p>\n<p>In a hopes of getting her oboe back in time for the opening of the BSO season, Needleman is offering a $1,000 reward.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information are asked\u00a0to contact the Montreal police at 514-393-1133.<\/p>\n<p><em>Michael Vincent<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Baltimore Sun has just reported that yet another oboe has been stolen in Montreal, this time from a Montreal hotel on Tuesday morning.
