It\u2019s been a busy late-summer with a number of exciting season announcements rolling in. One such announcement caught my eye, namely Anne-Sophie Mutter\u2019s Mutter Virtuosi chamber orchestra making a special stop in Toronto on November 21, 8 p.m. at Roy Thomson Hall.<\/p>\n

Founded in Munich in 1997, The Mutter Virtuosi are a group of 14 hand-picked alumni of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation, which seeks to develop young, talented string soloists.\u00a0 Anne-Sophie Mutter performs with them as well, giving them the opportunity to experience life as a professional musician, and since 2011, participate in tours for audiences across the world.<\/p>\n

The young ensemble will be performing two of chamber music\u2019s most treasured works: Mendelssohn\u2019s sparkling and animated Octet and Vivaldi\u2019s classic The Four Seasons<\/em>. Opening the show will be Ringtones<\/em>, by the American composer Sebastian Currier which was commissioned especially for the Mutter Virtuosi.<\/p>\n
