\"Dora-Mavor-Moore-Awards\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After a night of celebration at the 35th Annual Dora Awards,\u00a0Toronto\u2019s theatre community has a lot to celebrate this morning.<\/p>\n

Last nights ceremony, hosted by Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus was held at the WestJet Stage at the Harbourfront Centre, which presented 48 Dora Awards to pool of 143 producing companies competing for a bronze statue by sculptor John Romano. The awards also included the Silver Ticket Award and the Audience Choice Award.<\/p>\n

The Canadian Opera Company takes home 4 Doras: Roberto Devereaux<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/em>wins\u00a0Outstanding Production and Sondra Radvanovsky <\/strong>nabs Outstanding Performance-Female. \u00a0Peter Grimes takes home 2 (Outstanding Performance-Male to Alan Held<\/strong> and Outstanding Performance –\u00a0Ensemble to the COC Chorus<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Joel Ivany<\/strong> with Against the Grain Theatre wins for Outstanding New Musical\/Opera for Figaro’s Wedding.<\/p>\n

Actor and director Diana Leblanc<\/b> was presented with the Silver Ticket Award.<\/b><\/p>\n

TAPA’s Audience Choice Award<\/b> for Outstanding Production<\/b>, co-sponsored by NOW Magazine<\/i> and Yonge-Dundas Square, winner is Venus In Fur,<\/i><\/b> a Canadian Stage production.<\/p>\n
