Only once in its history has the London Philharmonic Orchestra, widely regarded as one of the finest orchestral ensembles in the world, appeared on stage at Roy Thomson Hall. It\u2019s the resident orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in London and every summer it plays the same role at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. And if you ever saw Lord of the Rings<\/i>, the LPO is who you heard for the entire trilogy. The Orchestra will be led by its Principal Conductor, Vladimir Jurowski, who is also Principal Guest Conductor of the Russian National Orchestra and a Principal Artist of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Maestro Jurowski and the Orchestra will be joined by multi-award winning French pianist, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, who\u2019s been hailed as one of the most engaging performers of his generation.<\/p>\n

Itzhak Perlman is the world\u2019s reigning violin virtuoso, enjoying an iconic status rarely afforded any musician. His performances before presidents and kings are legendary, including the Inauguration of President Obama. A Kennedy Center Honoree, he has won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award<\/i> for excellence in recording and four Emmys, most recently for the PBS documentary Fiddling for the Future<\/i>, about his work as a teacher and conductor for the Perlman Music Program. Itzhak Perlman has long been associated with the Israel Philharmonic, taking part in history-making concerts in Warsaw, Budapest, Moscow and Saint Petersburg.<\/p>\n
