The Toronto Symphony Orchestra will be hitting the bricks this April on a mini tour with stops in Montreal and Ottawa.<\/p>\n

They will be touring with what looks like a fantastic program conducted by Music Director, Peter Oundjian.<\/p>\n

It opens with the Canadian premi\u00e8re of Juno Award-winning Canadian composer, Vivian Fung\u2019s Aqua, a piece inspired by the architectural design of Chicago\u2019s 82-story skyscraper Aqua Tower.<\/p>\n

American pianist, Richard Goode will join the TSO to perform Mozart\u2019s charming Piano Concerto No. 17, which Mozart cheekily described as being \u201cwritten in such a way that the less learned cannot fail to be pleased, though without knowing why.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goode will share the program with TSO Concertmaster Jonathan Crow, who will performed Richard Strauss\u2019s tone poem,\u00a0Ein Heldenleben (A Hero\u2019s Life)<\/i>, which can be described as the depiction of the struggle between the individual and his outer and inner worlds, and the profundity of domestic love.<\/p>\n

This entire programme will also be presented in Toronto on April 11 and 12 at Roy Thomson Hall.<\/p>\n

In August 2014, the TSO will embark on another more substantial tour in Europe, with stops in Austria, The Netherlands, Germany, Finland, and Iceland. The tour features acclaimed Canadian violinist James Ehnes and distinguished German composer and clarinetist Jo\u0308rg Widmann as soloists.<\/p>\n
