The HD audio and visuals begin each day at 3 p.m. (Eastern) and continue to Oct. 31. All the concerts were recorded in previous seasons.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Today: A multimedia spectacular made up of two ballet scored by Igor Stravinsky: <em>The Fairy&#8217;s Kiss<\/em> and <em>Petrouchka<\/em>, created with the Giants Are Small company. Alan Gilbert conducts.<\/li>\n<li>Monday: A concert called Philharmonic 360, where the audience and orchestra under Gilbert explored music (and the opera <em>Don Giovanni<\/em>) in the round at the Park Avenue Armory two summers ago.<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday: The most remarkable thing about the orchestra&#8217;s main concert in the capital of North Korea in 2008 is the sea of stone-faced government officials filling the seats. Conductor Lorin Maazel must&#8217;ve felt as if he was playing to figures in a wax museum.<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday: Long Yu leads a variety-show-like, star-studded concert in\u00a0 honour of the last Lunar New Year.<\/li>\n<li>Thursday: Gilbert moved the orchestra into Volkswagen&#8217;s Willy Wonka-like glass car factory in Wolfsburg, Germany last May for a concert of new music by Christopher Rouse and Magnus Lindberg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You&#8217;ll find the details here.<\/p>\n<p>There are several other treats still streaming on the site at no charge (it costs nothing to register). My recommendations:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/behzoud.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-15507\" alt=\"behzoud\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/behzoud.jpg\" width=\"234\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a>The charming yet virtuosic 23-year-old Uzbek pianist Behzod Abduraimov in a winsome solo programme of Chopin, Schubert, Ravel and Tchaikovsky last week at the Louvre Auditorium. You&#8217;ll find it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medici.tv\/#!\/behzod-abduraimov-recital-louvre-auditorium\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This month, Parisians have been flocking to a spectacular presentation of Gaspare Spontini&#8217;s 1807 opera <em>La Vestale<\/em> at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-\u00c9lis\u00e9es starkly staged by \u00c9ric Lacascade and brilliantly led by conductor J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Rhorer. (The final live performance is tomorrow night.)<\/p>\n<p>Opera fans know this work from Maria Callas legend (Luchino Visconti created a production around her at LaScala in 1954), but the original libretto by \u00c9tienne de Jouy was in French &#8212; and hadn&#8217;t been heard in 159 years until it was presented in Paris earlier this month.
