There aren&#8217;t any Canadians on the list, but the quality of the finalists is good.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The high-definition stream, available for free if you sign up with medici.tv, is one of many rainy-day distractions on that website. (You can find out more about the competition <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neue-stimmen.de\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Two other vocal treats to consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you want to wallow in deep, 18th century sacred Italian musical drama, there is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medici.tv\/#!\/mater-dolorosa-talens-lyriques-festival-d-ambronay\" target=\"_blank\">an amazing programme from the Ambronay Festival<\/a> by Christophe Rousset and his historically-informed Talens Lyriques that begins with Giovanni Battista&#8217;s Pergolesi&#8217;s indescribably beautiful setting of the <em>Stabat Mater<\/em> (a poetic mediation of on Mary witnessing her son&#8217;s death on the cross). You&#8217;ll find this on medici.tv, as well &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medici.tv\/#!\/mater-dolorosa-talens-lyriques-festival-d-ambronay\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Closer to home is the free, on-demand stream from Soundstreams&#8217; wonderful season-opening choral concert led by T\u00f6nu Kaljuste from Oct. 1 at Koerner Hall.
