Pipa player Wei-Wei Lan closes new Music Concerts’ 2013-14 season with concerts at Gallery 345 and Mazzoleni Hall next May.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

New Music Concerts has announced its 2013-14 season of eight concerts, seven of which are available by subscription.<\/p>\n

Here is the lineup, as presented in the company’s press release. Founding artistic director Robert Aitken continues to lead all the ensemble performances:<\/p>\n

\nLan will perform a variety of solo works for pipa (solid-bodied Chinese lute) demonstrating the instrument\u2019s versatility in the context of traditional and folk music as well as contemporary pieces composed especially for her.<\/p>\n
