For the complete top 20, tune into Classical Chartz<\/a><\/strong> with the New Classical FM\u2019s Mark Wigmore every Saturday from 3-5 p.m.<\/p>\n The top four releases on the Classical Chartz Top Ten remain unchanged over last week. Jan Lisiecki<\/strong>‘s Mozart<\/strong> comes in at No. 1, followed by Pygmalion<\/strong>‘s J.S. Bach: Johannes-Passion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Isata Kanneh-Mason<\/strong>‘s Prokofiev<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 not the only album on this week’s list with the same title \u2014 holds the line at No. 3, while Sinfonia of London<\/strong> and Puccini Orchestral Works<\/strong> stays firm at No. 4.<\/p>\n The top five is rounded out by Camille Thomas<\/strong> and Rendez-Vous<\/strong>, which makes a big step up from No. 9.<\/p>\n There are two newcomers to the Classical Chartz Top Ten this week \u2014 Sofiane Pamart<\/strong> with MOVIE<\/strong> and Pascal Rog\u00e9<\/strong>‘s Faur\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n MOVIE is Pamart’s fourth solo album, which follows up on the success of PLANET, LETTER, AND NOCHE. The French pianist has conceived of the album, featuring 20 original compositions, as his first fully scored film.<\/p>\n The composer’s musical style ranges from contemporary to neoclassical and cinematic over the course of the tracks, recorded in collaboration with the 70+ member Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and a 24-member choir, along with a list of 14 guest artists. The latter includes pop stars and others such as Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean, English singer-songwriter Celeste, Loreen, a two-time Eurovision winner, Afrobeats artist Rema, reggaeton artist J Balvin, French multi-instrumentalist FKJ (aka French Kiwi Juice), Christine and the Queens (aka French singer-songwriter Rahim Redcar), Australian singer-songwriter SIA, singer RIMON, French rapper RIL\u00c8S, jazz vocalist Melody Gardot, Belgian pop band Oscar and the Wolf, and Canadian pop star Nelly Furtado.<\/p>\n Pascal Rog\u00e9 celebrated his 75th birthday this April, and to celebrate, he’s released a new album focusing on the music of French composer Gabriel Faur\u00e9. While Rog\u00e9’s discography has often focused on the music of French composers, and Faur\u00e9 in particular, it’s his first complete recording of Faur\u00e9’s Barcarolles.<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted to do something consistent, through which we could show the artistry and the genius of Faur\u00e9,\u201d Rog\u00e9 says in an album booklet interview with Jessica Duchen. \u201cThe Barcarolles offered a journey through his entire life as a composer, from the early works to the very last pieces.\u201d<\/p>\n Faur\u00e9 also includes the composer’s Dolly Suite, Op. 56 for piano four hands, accompanied by his wife and frequent duo partner Elena Font.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like a painter when I play. I see colours when I play and I try to add different ones. I use a lot of imagination: I will see nature, temperature, the wind, the moon. I need, always, to put an image behind the sound.\u201d<\/p>\n The album was recorded at the \u00c9glise de Saint-Pierre in Paris, where Rog\u00e9’s mother began her career as organist.<\/p>\n Are you looking to promote an event<\/u><\/span><\/a>?
