The 2026 Toronto Theatre Critics\u2019 Awards were announced today, with Theatre Passe Muraille<\/strong>\u2019s world premiere production of Anusree Roy\u2019s Through the Eyes of God emerging as the biggest winner.<\/p>\n

Through the Eyes of God netted three prizes, including best production of a play, best solo performance in a play or musical (Gabriella Sundar Singh<\/strong>), and best director of a play (Thomas Morgan Jones<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The TTCA\u2019s included 24 winners across 20 categories in a celebration of Toronto\u2019s dynamic 2025-26 theatre season. New this year was an award for best choreography, which was shared by Alyssa Martin<\/strong><\/a> for Dance Nation<\/strong> and Christopher Wheeldon<\/strong> for MJ<\/strong>. Other firsts included the awards for best digital design, won by Nathan Bruce<\/strong> for Rogers v. Rogers<\/strong><\/a>, and best puppetry, which went to Ronnie Burkett<\/strong><\/a> for Little Willy<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Productions either produced or presented by Crow\u2019s Theatre garnered eight TTCAs, including Dave Malloy<\/strong>\u2019s a cappella musical Octet<\/strong><\/a>, a Crow\u2019s co-production with Soulpepper and the Musical Stage Company, which took home best production of a musical. Octet also received the TTCA for best ensemble performance in a musical.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Spector\u2019s Eureka Day, produced in Toronto by Coal Mine Theatre<\/strong>, was named best international work.<\/p>\n
