Ex Machina, C\u00f4t\u00e9 Danse, Dvoretsky Productions and presenting partner Show One Productions presents the return of this inventive \u2014 and wordless \u2014 performance.<\/p>\n<p>Director Robert Lepage has a storied career that has included high profile productions at the Metropolitan Opera, Stratford Festival, and Cirque du tragedy, among others. Dancer\/choreographer Guillaume C\u00f4t\u00e9 recently retired after a long tenure as a Principal Dance with the National Ballet of Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Together, with award-winning composer <strong>John Gzowski<\/strong>\u2019s original score, they\u2019ve put together a unique take on the Shakespearean tragedy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GMa8bxPp8sw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p>The production premiered in 2024, and went on to an international tour of 15 cities in five countries.<\/p>\n<p>The work delves into the story of grief and loss, crippling doubt, and a shattered hold on sanity with a contemporary lens. C\u00f4t\u00e9\u2019s choreography fuses classical and contemporary movement, and he and nine dancers perform in the exploration of Shakespeare\u2019s seminal work. Returning home after touring internationally feels especially meaningful, and it reaffirms why Hamlet remains such a profound reflection of the human experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHamlet has followed me throughout my career, both as a play and as a character,\u201d adds Lepage. \u201cSeeing this wordless version grow through its international journey has been incredibly rewarding.
