Hope Muir, Joan and Jerry Lozinski Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, will open the company\u2019s Winter Season with the North American debut of Crystal Pite\u2019s Flight Pattern. The Canadian choreography superstar\u2019s work will be on stage from February 27 to March 6.<\/p>\n

The production features acclaimed soprano Measha Brueggergosman-Lee<\/p>\n

Crystal Pite & Flight Pattern<\/h3>\n

Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite began her career as a dancer in 1988 at\u00a0Ballet BC. She went on to join Ballet Frankfurt, and after several years there, she became the resident choreographer of Les Ballets Jazz de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n

Subsequently based in Vancouver, she formed her own company called Kidd Pivot, and both produced and danced in her own works.<\/p>\n

As her reputation grew, international companies began to commission her works, including the Netherlands Dans Theater, and Emergence for the NBC in 2009, which garnered four Dora Mavor Moore Awards.<\/p>\n

Kidd Pivot became the resident dance company of the German theatre K\u00fcnstlerhaus Mousonturm for three years, after which she became an Associate Artist with Sadler\u2019s Wells in the UK.<\/p>\n

Along with her Doras, she\u2019s won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production (for Flight Pattern), the 2022 Governor General of Canada\u2019s Performing Arts Award, and several more accolades.<\/p>\n
