Artistic Director Maestro Denis Mastromonaco conducts a program that celebrates Ravel\u2019s genius.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRavel\u2019s music captures the imagination like few others,\u201d says <strong>Maestro Denis Mastromonaco<\/strong> in a statement. \u201cIt is vivid and deeply human. This concert brings together the power of symphonic storytelling, the virtuosity of soloist Cecilia Chow, and the spirit of civic celebration that defines Mississauga. Vaughan Scholarship to study at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY at the age of 17, and she went on to earn her Bachelor of Music degree at that institution. She continued her studies at Northwestern University, earning a Master of Music in Piano Performance as well as pedagogical training.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to pursue an Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School, where she often worked with pianist Michael Berkovsky. She is currently based in Montr\u00e9al, where she is working towards her PhD at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n<p>Cecilia made her solo debut at the Guangzhou Opera House in 2011, and later that year, was invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum. She has multiple international competition prize wins under her belt, including the Internationaler Deutscher Klavierwettbewerb, Steinway &amp; Sons Piano Competition, and Asia Open Competition, among others.<\/p>\n<p>As a soloist in recital or accompanied by orchestras, she has performed at Studzinski Hall, Kilbourn Hall, Galvin Hall, Haydn-Haus, Harris Concert Hall, Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall, and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, along with numerous performances in the Chicagoland area. She co-founded the piano trio Coalesce, and has worked with the Dover Quartet as well as with members of the Ying Quartet.<\/p>\n<h3>The Concert &amp; More<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Mayor Carolyn Parrish<\/strong> is the sponsor of this event.
