The season for 2025\/26 features recent commissions and world premieres, along with Canadian and international contemporary works.<\/p>\n<p>Many will be performed in Toronto for the very first time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur 41st season invites audiences to experience music shaped by the natural world, while continuing our commitment to spotlighting new voices in Canadian music,\u201d says Artistic Director Ryan Scott. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to bring together our ensemble, guest artists, and the next generation of performers, composers, and curators to share this exciting body of work.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JHSfiJoRbTQ?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<h2>Continuum Contemporary Music 2025\/26<\/h2>\n<p>The season launched back in July with the performance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2025\/07\/25\/scrutiny-toronto-summer-music-missing-concert-beautiful-production-terrible-truths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missing, a Canadian chamber opera by M\u00e9tis playwright Marie Clements and composer Brian Current<\/a>, with libretto in English and Gitksan, as part of Toronto Summer Music.<\/p>\n<p>The concert schedule for the season includes:<\/p>\n<h3>Highlights of the season<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Woven Shores (October 24, 2025, St. George\u2019s Grange Park)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The program includes Anna Thorvaldsdottir (IC), Scape; Ashkan Behzadi (CA), Abyss: Refractive; Nathan Friedman (CA), Barcarolle; Ann Cleare (IR), 93 million miles away; Emilie Lebel (CA), Turning (a World Premiere and Continuum Commission)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pine Trees and Blue Sky (December 6, 2025, St. George\u2019s Grange Park)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curated by Artistic Producer and violinist Roan Ma and featuring harpist Stef Van Vynckt, this program includes Marcos Balter\u2019s Violin Concerto, Canadian composer Haotian Yu\u2019s Ritual III, created as part of Continuum\u2019s HATCH 2019 mentorship program, a new and as yet untitled work for violin and harp by Canadian Jessica Ackerley in its World Premiere (a Continuum commission), along with Toshio Hosokawa (JP), Landscape II, and Anna H\u00f6stman (CA), Pine Trees and Blue Sky<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outside Hollow (April 11, 2026, St. George\u2019s Grange Park)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Guitarist Rob MacDonald joins Continuum for concertos by Francisco Coll (Turia) and Tomi R\u00e4is\u00e4nen (Sea of Tranquility), a solo work by Canadian composer Amy Brandon (Slancio), and ensemble works by Yaz Lancaster (Shed Velvet) and Jesse Plessis (Ishnala).
