Windrush Estate Winery is located in the Hockley Hills region about an hour’s drive northwest of Toronto. The winery, established in 2017, includes 68 acres, a state-of-the art winemaking process \u2014 and concerts in its scenic venue.<\/p>\n

Windrush Salon Sundays offer a chance to enjoy music and more. A ticket includes both the concert and a reception that includes the winery’s award-winning VQA wines, nibbles, and a chance to mingle with the artists.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at some of the classical and other music on offer through the spring, summer, and into the fall.<\/p>\n

Music At Windrush: Highlights<\/h2>\n

Ron Korb, flautist<\/h3>\n

April 27, 2025<\/p>\n

Two-time GRAMMY nominee Ron Korb<\/strong> is a world traveler\/explorer, and his music blends elements of Pan-Asian, jazz, Celtic and Latin influences. The Japanese-Canadian flautist performs on his collection of more than 250 flutes, including bamboo and various Indigenous instruments from across the globe. The musician and composer attended the Royal Conservatory of Music, and after studying jazz at York University for a year, made the switch to classical flute at the University of Toronto, where he graduated with honours with a degree in Music Performance.<\/p>\n

All For Love<\/h3>\n

Canadian soprano Alexandra Teske<\/strong> returns to Windrush, bringing friends Lillian Brooks<\/strong>, mezzo-soprano, and pianist Kyung-A Lee<\/strong> for a program devoted to love.<\/p>\n

Alexandra Teske studied piano at the University of Western Ontario, earning a BMus (Hons) and BEd, and went on to study singing privately with Canadian mezzo-soprano Catherine Robbin. She has won numerous awardds and prizes at music festivals, including 1st place at the OMFA provincial music competition.<\/p>\n

Lillian Brooks earned an Artist Diploma Program in Vocal Performance from the Glenn Gould School in 2017 and went on to participate in the 2018 Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme in Aldeburgh, UK. She regularly performs both operas and oratorio, and has appeared with the Calgary Philharmonic, Grand Philharmonic Choir, Chorus Niagara, VOICEBOX: Opera in Concert, and Toronto Operetta Theatre.<\/p>\n

Korean-Canadian pianist Kyung-A Lee studied music at The King’s University in Edmonton, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degrea, and a diploma in church music. She followed up with a Masters and Doctorate degree at the University of Alberta. She has performed internationally as well as with numerous ensembles and choirs in Canada. She is also the Director of Music at the Trinity United Church in Huntsville.<\/p>\n

Songs My Father Taught Me<\/h3>\n

June 22, 2025<\/p>\n

Pianist Ren\u00e9e Guerrero<\/strong>, a producer, educator, pianist and vocal coach, together with son pianist\/singer Quintin Harris<\/strong>, and daughter cabaret chanteuse\/composer Artemisia LeFay<\/strong>, bring an eclectic program of music to Windrush, including music by a diverse range of artists: Mompou, Nazareth, Granados, Piazzolla, and Chopin. Ren\u00e9e\u2019s father was a traveling songsmith in Texas during the 1930s, and she continues the family tradition. She and her husband Lawrence Harris were awarded Best Record of the Year at the 2014 Native American Music Awards.<\/p>\n

Taras Petryk, Teen Prodigy Composer<\/h3>\n

August 10<\/p>\n

At just 17, Taras Petryk<\/strong> returns to Chateau Windrush to perform his original neoclassical compositions for piano. In 2023, he composed 12 pieces for piano, inspired by a novel written by his mother, Michelle Grierson, and revolving around ideas inspired by water. He premiered the works on Mother’s Day, and later recorded them at Windrush. He will also be performing at the Collingwood Music Festival this year on July 15.<\/p>\n

Fire, Fate & Fantasy<\/h3>\n

September 13, 2025<\/p>\n

Coloratura soprano Mary Ferrari<\/strong> and pianist Vlad Soloviev<\/strong> perform a dramatic program of arias that includes the Die H\u00f6lle Rache sung by the Queen of the Night in Mozart\u2019s The Magic Flute, Caro Nome from Rigoletto, Regnava nel silenzio from Lucia di Lammermoor, and 4 Lieder, Op.27 by Richard Strauss.<\/p>\n

Mary Ferrari studied on a scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music, and won the Loren Zachary competition in New York City. The win caught the attention of staff at the Metropolitan Opera, who arranged for her study with coloratura Kathelem Kim. She has since performed internationally, including Italy, South Korea, and Canada.<\/p>\n

Toronto-based pianist, conductor and operatic vocal coach Vlad Soloviev has worked as a repetiteur with several companies, including the Canadian Opera Company, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Highlands Opera Studio, UofT\u2019s Opera School and the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, among others, and has performed as a concert pianist in North America and Europe.<\/p>\n
