A tried and true crowd favourite is paired with the premiere of a new concerto for trumpet in the season opener for London Symphonia. The October 5 program includes Tchaikovsky\u2019s Symphony No. 6 (the Path\u00e9tique) and the Trumpet Concerto, Between The Rooms by LS Composer-In-Residence Scott Good.<\/p>\n

Busy conductor Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, Barrett Principal Education Conductor & Community Ambassador<\/a> to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, CBC host, and frequent collaborator with London Symphonia will conduct.<\/p>\n

The concert will be available to audiences in person at the Metropolitan United Church, or virtually via high quality 4K HDR Video On Demand with 21 days of unlimited access.<\/p>\n

Performers\/Artists<\/h2>\n

Adam Zinatelli, trumpet<\/h3>\n

Adam Zinatelli studied at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he completed an undergraduate degree. He then pursued graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is a laureate of the 2008 Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition.<\/p>\n

Today, Adam is a busy orchestral player, soloist, and chamber musician. He has held the Principal Trumpet chair of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra since 2009, and is a founding member of the Canadian National Brass Project and of the Reveille Trumpet Collective.<\/p>\n

He performs frequently as a soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra, Calgary\u2019s Kensington Sinfonia, and the University of Calgary Wind Ensemble, among others.<\/p>\n

Adam will be making his debut with London Symphonia.<\/p>\n

Scott Good, composer<\/h3>\n

Composer, conductor, and concert designer Scott Good is also a trombonist. He\u2019s been the Composer-In- Residence with London Symphonia since 2015, and served in the same role with the Vancouver Symphony from 2008 until 2011.<\/p>\n

Scott\u2019s work finds its inspiration in diverse and often obscure sources from Kurt Vonnegut to cooking stew, and his work has been performed across Canada, including by \u00a0Orchestre Symphonique de Montr\u00e9al, Vancouver Symphony, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic, Winnipeg Symphony, Orchestre de la Francophonie Canadienne, and Toronto\u2019s Esprit Orchestra.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s currently working on an epic two-and-a-half hour score for large orchestra and chorus to accompany Fritz Lang\u2019s seminal silent film classic Metropolis, to be performed by the Kingston Symphony to celebrate the film\u2019s 100th anniversary in 2027.<\/p>\n
