For the complete top 20, tune into Classical Chartz<\/a><\/strong> with the New Classical FM\u2019s Mark Wigmore every Saturday from 3-5 p.m.<\/p>\n Andris Nelsons and the Vienna Phil<\/strong> retain their hold on the No. 1 spot in the Classical Chartz this week with Summer Night Concert 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At the second spot, making the fastest rise of the week, sits Yannick N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe<\/strong> with their album Johannes Brahms<\/strong>. It vaults all the way up from No. 9 last week. The Chamber Orchestra of Europe was founded in 1981 by a core of musicians who\u2019d met through the European Community Youth Orchestra (now EUYO).<\/p>\n The orchestra\u2019s 60 or so members are also members of nationally-based orchestras, and teachers. Previous leaders and important collaborators have included Claudio Abbado, Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Today, the ECO works with Yannick N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin, Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Andr\u00e1s Schiff, who are Honorary Members.<\/p>\n Elsewhere on the Classical Chartz Top Ten, there\u2019s a lot of shuffling in the middle of the list, including Bruce Liu<\/strong>\u2019s take on Satie, which rises from No. 8 to No. 6, and it\u2019s worth noting that the Brigderton Season 3: Covers from the Series<\/strong>\u00a0is still holding it down at No. 3.<\/p>\n Leaping back into the Top Ten comes Daniel Hope<\/strong>\u2019s Irish Roots<\/strong>, which lands at No. 8 from No. 11 last week. The celebrated violinist spoke to LvT in April<\/a> about the album, and delving into his musical heritage.<\/p>\n Music Director of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and San Francisco\u2019s New Century Chamber Orchestra, and Artistic Director of the Frauenkirche Dresden, the busy musician was born in South Africa, but his left for Europe before he turned one due to their anti-Apartheid activism.<\/p>\n Hope traces his Irish roots back to his great-grandfather, who took his family to South Africa about a century ago.
