The 10th anniversary edition of the Fall for Dance North (FFDN) festival will present four world premieres by Canadian artists, and an appearance by British choreographer and director Wayne McGregor in his festival debut. The festival runs from September 26 to October 6 at multiple Toronto venues.<\/p>\n

It will be the last FFDN headed by artistic director Ilter Ibrahimof<\/a><\/strong>, who will be stepping down from the organization he established.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we imagined our 10th anniversary season \u2013 and as I personally prepared to pass the torch to new leadership \u2013 we wanted this milestone festival to not only look back and celebrate the incredible accomplishments of FFDN\u2019s first decade, but act as a launchpad for its exciting next chapters,\u201d says FFDN Artistic Director Ilter Ibrahimof in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince 2015, we have brought more than 30 genres and cultural forms of dance to the FFDN stage. We have been the first to host some of the brightest stars of the global dance scene, while also giving a platform and opportunity to diverse homegrown talent who are ready to take the next strides in their creative and professional development. As I look back on this time, perhaps the greatest accomplishment has been building a community of tens of thousands of audience members, fulfilling our promise and purpose that dance is accessible, universal, and has a place in all our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

FFDN: At A Glance<\/h2>\n

Homecoming: 2024 Signature Programme on Sep. 26 & 27, at The Creative School Chrysalis<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Festival kicks off with a night of dance that features the return of The National Ballet of Canada<\/strong> to the festival to perform islands by Emma Portner. Also on the bill is Cuba\u2019s Malpaso Dance Company<\/strong>, featuring guests from TMU School of Performance, in The Last Song by Malpaso co-founder and choreographer Daileidys Carrazana, and Ballet Edmonton<\/strong> in the world premiere of a new work by Anne Plamondon.<\/p>\n
