Season 3 of Shonda Rhimes\u2019 hit series Bridgerton<\/strong> is still in the Top 5 on Netflix Canada. Likewise, the musical soundtrack of orchestral arrangements of pop covers by various artists from the series has upwards momentum, and lands at the No. 1 position from 4 last week. Just behind, Stephan Moccio<\/strong>\u2019s Legends, Myths & Lavender<\/strong> makes the climb from No 5 to No. 2.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting that stalwarts John Williams<\/strong> (with the Saito Kinen Orchestra on John Williams in Tokyo<\/strong>), and Andre Rieu<\/strong> (with his Strauss Orchestra and their Love Is All Around (Live)<\/strong>) are still among the Top Ten of the week after months on the Chartz.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s one newcomer to the Top Ten this week, Brad Mehldau<\/strong>\u2019s Apr\u00e8s Faur\u00e9<\/strong>. American pianist, composer and arranger Brad Mehldau is widely known in the world of jazz music. He has been experimenting with musical genres and formats, however, for about the last two decades. It\u2019s led to working with pop, rock, and classical music artists like Ren\u00e9e Fleming,\u00a0Anne Sofie von Otter.<\/p>\n

In the liner notes for Apr\u00e8s Faur\u00e9, he describes the work as \u201cmusic that breathes austerity and weirdness.\u201d Mehldau includes the composer\u2019s final two nocturnes, juxtaposing it with his own music, and making a sonic link between Faure and the beginnings of jazz.<\/p>\n

His After Bach II was released on the same day; perhaps we\u2019ll see it yet in the Top Ten.<\/p>\n
