The goal is to draw attention to the dramatic changes in the natural soundscape that come with the change of seasons from winter into spring.<\/p>\n<p>Springscapes includes installations and workshops at their North Media Arts Centre, along with a special concert to celebrate birth on Mother\u2019s Day, and livestream events you can experience anywhere that continue until June 17, 2024. The concert will feature the works of Susan Frykberg and Soft Alchemy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Re-birth and regeneration of spring is evident in the soundscape, in the budding trees and in the changes in rhythms within communities in the North. Spring peepers announce the season\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n<p>Those sounds of spring, as contributed by area residents, and updated weekly to truly reflect the season as it develops, will surround visitors experiencing this installation. The physical exhibit is <strong>on display until June 17<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can listen online to the soundscapes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/aporee.org\/maps\/work\/projects.php?project=almaguin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aporee Sound Map<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re a resident of the Almaguin Highlands, NAISA will provide equipment if you\u2019d like to contribute to the ongoing project. You\u2019ll be able to listen to the 24-hour circadian rhythm of the soundscape from \u1e6eE\u1e34TE\u1e34SEN marsh in un-surrendered W\u0331S\u00c1NE\u0106 territory (Saturna Island, British Columbia).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Listen [<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/naisa.ca\/naisa-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>].<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Reveil Dawn Livestream Broadcast<\/h3>\n<p>Reveil is a 24+1 hr radio broadcast. It will begin at midnight on <strong>May 4, Dawn Chorus Day<\/strong>, and follows the sunrise around the earth. It will travel west via live audio streams that are transmitted by live-streamers from their own locations as the dawn breaks. The end result will be a collective audit of planetary soundworlds over one earth day. T<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can stream the sounds of daybreak from your own location via the <a href=\"https:\/\/soundtent.org\/reveil\/index.html#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soundtent website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Listen on <a href=\"https:\/\/naisa.ca\/naisa-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NAISA Radio<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Soundscape Weekend Intensive | Dawn \/ Dusk Reimagined<\/h3>\n<p>From <strong>May 3 to 5<\/strong> at Warbler\u2019s Roost, a rural 14-acre property (about 22 km west of the village of South River), this year\u2019s intensive will see participants recording, editing and composing soundscape compositions, or field recording works, focusing around the concept of reimagining dusk and dawn. All levels of Experience are welcome.<\/p>\n<h3>Reflections on Birth | A multimedia concert<\/h3>\n<p>This concert on May 11, on the eve of Mother\u2019s Day, features the work of Soft Alchemy and the late Susan Frykberg, and the theme of giving birth. The late <strong>Susan Frykberg<\/strong> completed her Audio Birth Project from 1996 to 1997. The core of the project is interviews with Frykberg\u2019s sisters and mother about giving birth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Soft Alchemy<\/strong>\u2019s Simula is a five movement audio-visual piece revolving around the emotional journey experienced by three Mothers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>May 11<\/strong> at 7 p.m. Tickets [<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/naisa.ca\/purchase-tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>].<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Details<\/h2>\n<p>New Adventures in Sound Art is a non-profit media art organization.
