Daniela Nardi has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. Her appointment will be effective as of March 4, 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaniela Nardi is an exceptional leader with a unique blend of artistic vision, strategic acumen and community engagement,\u201d said Jean-S\u00e9bastien Vall\u00e9e<\/strong>, Artistic Director in a statement. \u201cHer proven track record of success and her passion for choral music make her the ideal person to guide the TMChoir in achieving its ambitious goals, both on and off the stage. I\u2019m thrilled to welcome her as my new partner in the TMChoir leadership team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daniela Nardi<\/h2>\n

Daniela Nardi brings the experience of a three decade career in the arts and culture sector to her new role. With a passion for music, she has experience in programming, producing, marketing, fundraising and strategic planning, making her the right person to guide the choir into the future.<\/p>\n

TMC\u2019s mandate goes beyond performance to playing a role in creating and nurturing Toronto\u2019s choral community, including its audiences. Nardi\u2019s collaborative background was key in landing her the position.<\/p>\n

Along with her role in music administration and organization, she is a talented artist and award-winning musician in her own right. Daniela began studying music at Toronto\u2019s Royal Conservatory at the age of five, and earned a Bachelor\u2019s of Fine Arts in music from York University. She has produced and recorded albums as a jazz\/pop singer-songwriter. With her global jazz project Espresso Manifesto<\/strong>, she toured Canada and Europe.<\/p>\n

She served as the Interim Executive Director of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Choir<\/strong>, and she played a key role in the revitalization of 918 Bathurst Centre for Arts, Culture, Media, and Education<\/strong>. Daniela is Founder and Artistic Director of\u00a0Salone di Cultura<\/strong>, a series of multidisciplinary cultural exchanges between Canada, Italy and its diasporas.<\/p>\n

Along with paid positions, Daniela has volunteered and served on several boards, committees and advisory boards with a view towards contributing to Toronto\u2019s rich cultural life. She is involved in organizations such as\u00a0the International Society for the Performing Arts<\/strong> (ISPA) and the Canadian Live Music Association<\/strong> (CLMA).<\/p>\n
