Isabelle Moretti in Recital<\/h3>\n

French harpist Isabelle Moretti presents a solo harp recital as part of the ongoing France-Canada Distinguished Visitor series at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto. Currently teaching at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de la musique et de la danse de Paris, and the Royal Academy of Music, Moretti’s recital promises to be a joyous celebration of the French harp school.\u00a0 Moretti will lead two public harp masterclasses on Tuesday Feb.13 (6-830 p.m.) and Friday Feb.16 (4-6 p.m.) at Walter Hall. Exchanges and Collaborations<\/h3>\n

Upcoming talents of the Glenn Gould School, Royal Conservatory of Music and the Royal Academy of Music (UK) co-present a noon hour concert at the COC, as part of the Sir Elton John Global Exchange Program<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\u2014 <\/span>an exchange and collaborative education initiative between 12 leading international music education institutions. Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Year of the Dragon: A Lunar New Year Celebration<\/h3>\n

Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m.
\nRoy Thomson Hall. $55+<\/p>\n

The TSO and special guests will celebrate the first day of the Year of the Dragon 2024 with a Chinese favourite, the Butterfly Lovers Concerto, and traditional melodies of Ballad of the Pipa, and Jasmine Flower, among other classical favourites. Zhao Xiaxia, whose collaboration with Tan Dun brought traditional Chinese soundscapes to the world, promises to charm the audience with her 7-string guqin. The Hot Sardines: Valentine’s Day<\/h3>\n

Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m.

A Valentine’s day special. NYC jazz group, the Hot Sardines, bring early jazz and swing to Koerner. Expect hot tunes from New Orleans to 1940s Paris. East Side 6 Dance will warm up the floor at 7 p.m. for a pre-concert, and audiences are invited to join them post-concert for more dancing and jollity. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Toronto Symphony Orchestra: Superman in Concert<\/h3>\n

Conductors Simon Rivard and Trevor Wilson lead this talented group of youngsters in a Britain-centric program centered on Elgar\u2019s well-loved Enigma Variations. Nathaniel Dett Chorale: Voices of the Diaspora: Haitian Voices<\/h3>\n

In celebration of Black History month, Nathaniel Dett Chorale presents music of Haitian-American composer Sydney Guillaume. As a high-calibre chamber choir, Nathaniel Dett Chorale’s strength lies in their flexibility in exploring the African Diaspora in multi-disciplinary, cross-genre programming.
