For the complete top 20, tune into Classical Chartz<\/a><\/strong> with the New Classical FM\u2019s Mark Wigmore every Saturday from 3-5 p.m.<\/p>\n The Vienna Phil<\/strong> and Andre Rieu<\/strong> have a lock on Nos. 1 and 2 this week, with no change from last week. Anne Sophie-Mutter\u2019s Virtuosi<\/strong> also holds the line at No. 4. Aled Jones and his One Voice \u2014 Full Circle<\/strong> make a leap from No. 8 to 3, one of the biggest jumps in the Top Ten.<\/p>\n Even bigger, though, is the rise of C\u00e9dric Tiberghien\u2019s Beethoven: Complete Variations for Piano, Vol. 2<\/strong>, which climbs from No. 15 into the Top Ten at position No. 8. The French pianist\u2019s double album includes a number of works and composers alongside Beethoven in what can only be called a thorough examination of the musical variation. Bach\u2019s Aria variata alla Maier italiana & his Partita for Solo Violin No. 2 in D Minor; Beethoven\u2019s 5 Variations on \u201cRule, Britannia!\u201d; Morton Feldman\u2019s Last Pieces; Beethoven\u2019s 6 Variations in G Major; 7 Haiku by John Cage; Beethoven\u2019s 9 Variations on a March by Ernst Christoph Dressler; George Crumb\u2019s Processional; Beethoven\u2019s 12 Variations on \u201cMenuet a la Vigano\u201d; John Cage\u2019s Landscape; Beethoven\u2019s 7 Variations on \u201cGod Save the King\u201d. Released on the Harmonia Mundi label, the 2-disc set offers more than 100 tracks, and 2 hours and 34 minutes of musical variations.<\/p>\n Just released this month, and brand new not only to the Top Ten but the Top 20 is Daniel Hope and Dance!<\/strong> The recording by Hope and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra of which he is the Musical Director draws from the history of Western dance music, beginning with medieval times and continuing to the 20th century. The repertoire explored offers a double album (more than 2 hours) worth of music, and a list of composers that includes Purcell, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Offenbach, Price, Bart\u00f3k, Piazzolla and more.
