London Symphonia has announced the investment by the Government of Canada\u2019s Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF) in the organization\u2019s purchase of state-of-the-art audio streaming equipment. The audience for livestream and on-demand video is growing, and the new equipment will enable a high quality online experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur community is very fortunate to have London Symphonia,\u201d said Peter Fragiskatos, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities and Member of Parliament for London North Centre in a statemetn.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis talented group of musicians have enriched arts and culture in London. This will continue as a result of the federal investment being announced. Every opportunity to extend the reach of this group should be taken and that is why this investment matters. Thank you to the organization, its supporters and especially its musicians for their ongoing contributions.\u201d<\/p>\n

While some organizations in the orchestral music community have abandoned or cut back on digital offerings post-pandemic, extending the reach beyond geographical borders is one of its major advantages. It also opens up concert experiences to those who cannot attend regular concerts for various reasons, including disability.<\/p>\n

London Symphonia\u2019s online programming has progressed since its inception in 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to this significant funding from the Community Services Recovery Fund, London Symphonia is continuing to support the community through outstanding digital concert experiences that are attracting new virtual audiences and deepening educational opportunities for young musicians,\u201d said April Voth, Executive Director of London Symphonia.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrons continue to say our livestream concerts are lifelines. We believe that London Symphonia\u2019s digital performances are vital to fulfilling our mandate to be accessible to all members of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time investment of $400 million from federal coffers that goes to support community service organizations of various kinds, providing the funding to upgrade and modernize operations.<\/p>\n
