Alliance fran\u00e7aise\/Po\u00e8me Harmonique<\/h3>\n

Tuesday Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m. Alliance fran\u00e7aise (24 Spadina Road). $18<\/p>\n

A sextet drawn from the French ensemble offers a program including works by Cavalli and Lully and based on the early days of the Palace of Versailles. With mezzo-soprano Eva Za\u00efcik. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tapestry\/Rocking Horse Winner<\/h3>\n

Nov. 1, 2 at 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 4, 5 at 1:30 p.m. Streetcar Crowsnest (345 Carlaw Ave.). $79, senior $63<\/p>\n

Tapestry revives its Dora-Award-winning hit of 2016 (words by Anna Chatterton and music by Gareth Williams) with many of the same singers. New to the company is the French-born, New York-based conductor Kamna Gupta. Michael Hidetoshi Mori directs. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

RCM\/Glenn Gould School Chamber Opera<\/h3>\n

Friday Nov. 3 and Saturday Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Mazzoleni Hall. $20<\/p>\n

Students of the Glenn Gould School delve into the Tapestry archives and revive five quirky one-act operas originally seen between 2002 and 2009. Settings are said to include a park, an ice rink, a hardware store, an ant colony and a sock drawer. Peter Tiefenbach conducts. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

RCM\/Danish String Quartet<\/h3>\n

Friday Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. Koerner Hall. $45+<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old ensemble (which includes one Norwegian) visits Koerner Hall with a conservative program of Purcell (Chaconne in G Minor), Haydn (Quartet in G Minor Op. 20 No. 3), Shostakovich (Quartet No. 7) and Schubert (\u201cDeath and the Maiden\u201d). Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Array Space\/Quatuor Molinari<\/h3>\n

Friday Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. Array Space (155 Walnut Ave.). $20.<\/p>\n

\u201cNature in Canadian String Quartets\u201d is the theme of this concert by the enterprising Montreal group. The program: Quinsin Nachoff\u2019s Quartet No. 1 and R. Murray Schafer\u2019s Quartets No. 2 (Waves) and No. 10 (Winter Birds). Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

VOICEBOX\/Un giorno di regno<\/h3>\n

Sunday Nov. 5 at 2:30 p.m. Jane Mallett Theatre. $47<\/p>\n

The Opera in Concert company tries on Verdi\u2019s early and rarely-heard comedy. Suzy Smith leads a cast of six and chorus from the piano. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

RCM\/Sir Andr\u00e1s Schiff<\/h3>\n

Sunday Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. Koerner Hall. $75+<\/p>\n

The Hungarian-born British pianist visits Toronto with a program of\u2026who knows? Sir Andr\u00e1s now announces repertoire from the stage. But he is best known for his advocacy of the hardcore Austro-German classics. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mooredale\/New Orford String Quartet<\/h3>\n

Sunday Nov. 5 at 3:15 p.m. Walter Hall. $55, senior $50, student $30<\/p>\n

The New Orford String Quartet offers a program of Caroline Shaw, Ana Sokolovi\u0107, Beethoven (Op. 74) and Ravel in the U of T venue that the group\u2019s namesake used to call home. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
