We pay all our freelancers the going rate and will discuss this first before you start writing for us.<\/p>\n<h4><b>What we\u2019re looking for<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>A freelance critic to review various events including\u00a0orchestral, chamber, solo concerts around Toronto.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Position responsibilities<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover a broad range of classical music in the Toronto area.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure articles written following our editorial guidelines and are submitted on time.<\/li>\n<li>Take the necessary steps required to produce content, which may include attending events, telephone, email, and in-person interviews.<\/li>\n<li>Capture quality photos for accompanying articles, as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a close connection to the arts scene, and stay\u00a0up-to-date on news and events affecting Toronto and beyond<\/li>\n<li>Uphold our professional integrity through quality, and ethically produced work.<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals \u2014 while remaining at an arm&#8217;s\u00a0length.<\/li>\n<li>Identify all possible conflicts of interest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree or diploma in journalism, music, or\u00a0English an asset<\/li>\n<li>Experience writing for a print or online publication \u2014 (blogs included).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of social media.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interface with editorial members, publicists, and the public both remotely and face-to-face.<\/li>\n<li>Flex creative muscles and seek to improve your writing.<\/li>\n<li>Skills in photography an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Benefits of working with us<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong potential for long-term career growth and development with a fast-growing company.<\/li>\n<li>Be part of a close-knit and well-connected team that works hard, but knows how to have fun.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Is this you?
