It fits between\u00a0Bloor Street to the north, Lake Ontario to the south, the Don River to the east, and Bathurst Street to the west. The area is made up of Canada&#8217;s\u00a0largest concentration of skyscrapers and contains buildings of the municipal government of Toronto and provincial government of Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto&#8217;s growing skyline has the third most large skyscrapers in North America (200m plus in height), and ranks just behind New York City and Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>For culture \u00a0lovers,\u00a0the downtown core is\u00a0home to the Bloor St. Culture Corridor, which includes\u00a0Bloor Hot Docs Cinema,\u00a0Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir,\u00a0The Toronto Consort,\u00a0Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de Toronto,\u00a0The Native Canadian Centre of Toronto,\u00a0Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre,\u00a0Istituto Italiano di Cultura,\u00a0Bata Shoe Museum,\u00a0The Royal Conservatory,\u00a0Royal Ontario Museum (ROM),\u00a0Gardiner Museum,\u00a0The Japan Foundation, Toronto, and the University of Toronto Faculty of Music.<\/p>\n<p>Of course mainstays such as Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Halls are located in the central core as well as the Canadian Opera Company&#8217;s\u00a0The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing #ff0000;\">The Royal Ontario Museum<\/span> is one of the largest museums in North America, attracting over one million visitors every year. Sitting on Bloor St, its unmistakable deconstructivist crystalline-form structure has been the subject of both awe and contempt. It was ranked number 8 among the world&#8217;s 10 ugliest buildings, yet named the crystal one of its New Seven Wonders of the World. Architecture aside, it is full of all things strange and wonderful, and should not be missed.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto is home to the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Beta Show Museum<\/span> which is the be all and end all of shoes. From pumps to high-tops, this is a collection worth seeing. Ironically,\u00a0the gift shop doesn&#8217;t shoes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ontario Art Gallery<\/span> (AGO) is Toronto&#8217;s best bet for the art lover. It is located in the Downtown Grange Park district, and holds the\u00a0largest collection of Canadian art\u00a0in Canada. The building was renovated by Toronto born architect\u00a0Frank Gehry (2008), and is something to see in itself. \u00a0At nearly 80,000 works from the\u00a01st century to the present day it is a lot to take in, so bring comfy shoes.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto likes to\u00a0have fun, and the place to do it is in the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Entertainment District<\/span><b>. <\/b>Located<b>\u00a0<\/b>around King Street West between University Avenue and Spadina Avenue, it is full of\u00a0theatres, performing arts centres, Toronto&#8217;s four major-league sports teams (Blue Jays (MLB), Maple Leaf&#8217;s (NHL), The Raptors (NBA),\u00a0Toronto Argonauts\u00a0(CFL) and a huge selection of bars, nightclubs, cafes, and restaurants.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kensington Market<\/span> is one of the most\u00a0distinctive multicultural neighbourhood in Downtown\u00a0Toronto.\u00a0In 2006, it was designated a National Historic Site, and most would agree it is probably the most quintessentially Torontonian neighbourhood\u00a0in the city. It&#8217;s laid back, yet hip vibe has made it as much a legend as it is an outdoor market. Plan to spend the entire day here browsing through\u00a0second-hand\u00a0clothing galore.<\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Distillery District<\/span> is a history buffs dream come true. \u00a0Located east of\u00a0Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, it contains a huge selection of caf\u00e9s, restaurants, and shops and art galleries, all housed within the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery. The area spans\u00a013 acres, and comprises the\u00a0largest collection of Victorian-era\u00a0industrial architecture in North America.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Chinatown<\/span> is located\u00a0along Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue west of the centre of the city. It is home to a high concentration of ethnic Chinese residents and is one of the largest Chinatowns in North America. Everything is for sale here.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Yorkville<\/span> is the centre\u00a0for exclusive shopping in Toronto.\u00a0Part of the uber cool Annex Neighbourhood, it is bordered by\u00a0Bloor Street to the south, Davenport Road to the north, Yonge Street to the east and Avenue Road to the west.
