SUMMARY:Amadeus Choir | Songs of Hope and Peace
DESCRIPTION:Join the Amadeus Choir\, conductor Lydia Adams and host/storyteller Tom Allen as the choir presents music of remembrance\, hope\, peace and the longing for home. \nThe choir sings the moving and emotional words of WW1 soldiers from Canada\, Germany\, France and Britain in Jeffrey Ryan’s emotional Song of the Soldiers\, commissioned by the National Arts Centre to mark the centenary of the end of WW1\, adapted by Jeffrey Ryan with actor R.H. Thomson. \nThis concert experience also includes the moving music of Kai Leung\, Hussein Janmohamed\, Eleanor Daley\, Morten Lauridsen\, John Rutter\, Sid Robinovitch\, Srul Irving Glick and W.A. Mozart and the 15th c. melody L’homme armé (Beware the armed man) as the choir explores the loss and futility of war and the desire to return home. \nThis concert will feature the world premiere of L’homme armé arranged by Lydia Adams\, as well as the world premiere of Let me fall by Roman Hurko dedicated to President Zelensky. \nA special feature of this event will be the pre-concert presentation of two extraordinary short films produced by the Amadeus Choir and Artistic Director Kathleen Allen entitled\, Portraits of Home.
