What sets MAKEWAY apart is its holistic\, artist-focused approach: we customize the experience to suit each composer’s vision. If a participant needs a unique ensemble or musical formation\, we make it happen\, giving them the freedom to bring their ideas to life. Throughout the MAKEWAY program\, these early-career talents learn all aspects of music creation\, from composing to collaborating with professional musicians. \nAt this showcase concert\, you’ll get to meet the creators\, hear them introduce their works\, and witness firsthand the innovative music they’ve crafted. DESCRIPTION:Think of it as an all-star game of Baroque music\, where individual virtuosity meets the magic of ensemble collaboration\, delivering a performance filled with energy\, skill\, and pure joy. \nTafelmusik’s extraordinary musicians step into the spotlight with Rachel Podger for her final concert of the season. \nIn this dynamic showcase of Tafelmusik’s artistry\, Rachel Podger and members of the orchestra flex their musical muscles as soloists in a bouquet of concertos that highlight the violin\, cello\, recorder\, oboe\, and bassoon. \nThis program features peerless examples of baroque concertos\, including concertos by Telemann and Heinichen for 2 oboes\, bassoon and strings\, Telemann’s Concerto for 3 violins in F Major\, and Corelli’s Concerto grosso no. 1 in D Major. Tafelmusik’s vibrant colors combine in Vivaldi‘s vivacious Chamber Concerto in G Minor and two of his blockbuster concertos shine the spotlight on the bassoon and cello. \nWith this panoply of dazzling concertos we celebrate the inspiring musicians of Tafelmusik joining talents with Rachel\, acclaimed for concertos “crackling with vitality and executed with consistent brilliance” (Gramophone).
