SUMMARY:Music Mondays | Rebekah Wolkstein and Drew Jurecka
DESCRIPTION:Rebekah Wolkstein and Drew Jurecka are both members of the Payadora Ensemble\, a quartet specializing in new and traditional South American folk music. Payadora has appeared at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts\, Harbourfront Centre\, the Toronto Music Festival\, The Four Seasons Centre for the Arts\, Vancouver Island MusicFest and Music in the Morning\, as well as in festivals in Parry Sound\, Collingwood\, & Stratford. Their 2nd CD Volando inspired comments such as “Superstar group” (the WholeNote) and “Highly\, highly recommended” (Great Dark Wonder).\n\nDrew Jurecka is a renowned jazz violinist who has performed extensively with Jesse Cook\, Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Cafe\, and Jill Barber\, and toured for 5 years with the Jeff Healey Band.\n\nRebekah Wolkstein has performed and toured extensively with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra\, The National Ballet of Canada\, The Canadian Opera Company\, and in recitals with Russell Braun\, as well as being an active studio musician at home playing in the styles of Folk\, Klezmer\, Pop\, Latin\, and Jazz and Mariachi.\n\nBetween them\, Rebekah and Drew have performed on 6 JUNO-nominated albums this year\, and Drew’s string arrangements are heard on this year’s (63rd) GRAMMY-winning Best Pop Vocal Album (Duo Lipa).
