DESCRIPTION:Winner\, 2023 Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition \nMarko Topchii was born to a family of musicians in Kiev\, Ukraine and started studying guitar at the age of four. \nHe is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev under the guidance of Prof. Yuri Alexik\, Honored Artist of Ukraine. He completed his master’s degree in the National University of Arts in Kharkov in 2011\, where he studied under Prof. Volodymir Dotsenko\, Honored Artist of Ukraine. \nMarko has won more than 50 awards in international guitar worldwide\, including 34 first places in competitions in the United States\, Mexico\, Japan\, China\, Taiwan\, South Korea\, Germany\, Switzerland\, France\, Italy\, Spain\, Portugal\, Liechtenstein\, Serbia and Ukraine. \nHe has made recordings for Fleur de Son Classics\, Contrastes Music Records and is featured performing the Villa Lobos Concerto with the Buffalo Philharmonic on Stars of the Guitar (Beau Fleuve Records). \nMarko plays guitars made by Karl-Heinz Roemmich\, Yuichi Imai\, Sakurai Kohno and Hong Sik Uhm. He is a D’Addario artist since 2012. \nHe actively performs around the world\, regularly performing with orchestras and other ensembles as well as a soloist.

DESCRIPTION:Cécile McLorin Salvant is one of the most highly regarded jazz vocalists of her generation. She has released seven albums since 2010\, six of which have been nominated for best jazz vocal album Grammy Awards. She has won three: for her 2013 album WomanChild\, her 2017 album Dreams and Daggers\, and her 2018 album The Window. \nThe recipient of a MacArthur Foundation “genius” grant\, Cécile McLorin Salvant was recognized for “using manifold powers of interpretation to infuse jazz standards and original compositions with a vibrant\, global\, Black\, feminist sensibility.” \nSalvant’s most recent album is Mélusine\, released in 2023 by Nonesuch Records.
