SUMMARY:Toronto Symphony Orchestra | Titan: A Celebration of the TSYO’s 50th Anniversary!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the epic conclusion to the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra’s golden jubilee season. Throughout its 50 year history\, the TSYO has taught young musicians to be the best versions of themselves\, both inside and outside the concert hall. TSYO musicians have seen their share of trials and tribulations\, but they have always emerged triumphant\, just like the featured piece in this milestone concert—Mahler’s First Symphony.

SUMMARY:The Royal Conservatory of Music | Lizz Wright and Sanah Kadoura
DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed vocalist Lizz Wright is a steward of American music\, bringing brilliant colour and vibrancy to singular original works and compositions by some of the greatest songwriters of our time. Through an inimitable voice that The New York Times touts as “a smooth\, dark alto possessed of qualities you might associate with barrel-aged bourbon or butter-soft leather\,” Wright sings with a soaring reflection of the cultural fabric of America. \nJuno Award nominated Lebanese-Canadian drummer\, composer\, educator\, and producer Sanah Kadoura’s music traverses the modern jazz idiom with hints of neo-soul and a strong musical influence from her motherland of Lebanon. “Kadoura is a dexterous improviser\, with a light\, elastic approach that evokes Tony Williams\, a major influence.” (JazzTimes)
