DESCRIPTION:The LARK Ensemble is formed by members of Toronto’s leading orchestras (COC Orchestra\, Toronto Symphony Orchestra\, and National Ballet of Canada Orchestra). Joined by special guest harpsichordist Christopher Bagan\, they perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s masterpiece The Musical Offering\, arranged for traverso\, string trio\, and harpsichord. Dedicated to and based on a single musical theme given to Bach by Frederick II of Prussia\, this piece is widely accepted as one of the greatest chamber works of the Baroque era.

DESCRIPTION:Winner of Gramophone magazine’s award for Young Artist of the Year in 2017\, Italian pianist Beatrice Rana has been a force on the music scene since winning the prestigious Montreal International Musical Competition in 2011. Two years later\, she snagged a Silver Medal and the Audience Award at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition — when she was a mere 20 years old. The New York Times wrote that Rana’s rendition of Chopin’s op. 25 Études “made the pieces sound as poetic and colorful as anything Chopin ever wrote.”
