SUMMARY:Toronto Concert Orchestra | Tribute to Kerry
DESCRIPTION:Maestro Kerry Stratton made a tremendous impact on many musicians\, colleagues\, friends\, and listeners. Today\, we honour him by bringing to the forefront one of his favourite young composers\, Samuel Bisson\, who is now TCO’s first ever Composer in Residence. Kerry commissioned a number of works from Sam over the years\, and today we hear highlights from Kerry’s commissions as well as a full performance video of Currency of Time\, a 12-part string ensemble piece\, the final piece of music Kerry inspired while he was alive. \nWe continue the tribute to Kerry by inviting friends and colleagues to submit their own musical contributions in Kerry’s memory.
