DESCRIPTION:Patricia Ahern\, Chris Verrette violins\nDominic Teresi dulcian\nLucas Harris lute\nCharlotte Nediger harpsichord \nThe stylus fantasticus (“fantastic style”) was all the rage in the 17th century: instrumental music written in a bold\, unrestrained\, and extravagant manner. The performers were urged to embrace an unbridled style of playing\, virtuosic and spontaneous. \nThis audacious style had its origins in Venice and Rome\, but quickly travelled north. Our concert includes music written in Austria\, Italy\, and Germany.
