We’re Still Singing – this Concert and it’s Purpose
This concert is in memory of our beautiful grandson, Bennett, who died from brain cancer just before his 1st birthday in 2001. He was a divine child, always happy and delighted by everything and everybody he met. His stints at SickKids Hospital were extraordinary for their loving care of our grandson. Bennet was given a new chemo with hopes that it would help him survive. It was ineffective and he succumbed. We always showered him with the same love that he offered us and played music to our very musical boy till his last hours.
If this concert is successful in bringing in a generous audience then SickKids will be that much closer in the future to finding cures for precious children.
Anne and I have invited singers and musicians from the performing community to lend their talents to this cause. All have been touched by cancer. Some are only a year away from their last chemo and radiation treatment. Some are partners and beloved friends and some have lost their life’s partners and friends. And we will be performing to not only raise money for SickKids but to tell the world that music is our lifeline and it continues to hold our souls in it’s arms.
So come hear us celebrate life and hear the sounds of longing for departed ones. There will be sadness and great joy, comedy and drama.
