BRAHMS SYMPHONY 1

Two jaunty, jazz-flavoured American classics—Bernstein’s bouncy sailors-on-leave-in- New York ballet, and Gershwin’s captivating, bluesy concerto—launch this program in high style. Peter Oundjian pairs them with one of the grandest of all symphonies: the heartening, darkness-to-light emotional journey that Brahms shares with us in Symphony No. 1. Arrive early for a pre-concert performance by Singing Out in the lobby!
Concert running time is approximately two hours including a 20-minute intermission.
