SUMMARY:Royal Conservatory of Music | Martin Fröst\, clarinet\, Antoine Tamestit\, viola\, and Shai Wosner\, piano
DESCRIPTION:Three internationally respected soloists come together for the intimate format of a chamber-music recital: Martin Fröst from Sweden\, Frenchman Antoine Tamestit\, and the Israeli Shai Wosner\, who lives in the USA. \nKnown for pushing musical boundaries\, clarinettist and Sony Classical recording artist Martin Fröst has been described by The New York Times as having “a virtuosity and a musicianship unsurpassed by any clarinettist –  perhaps any instrumentalist – in my memory.” Winner of the 2014 Léonie Sonning Music Prize\, one of the world’s highest musical honours\, Fröst was the first clarinettist to be given the award and joined a prestigious list of previous recipients\, including Igor Stravinsky and Sir Simon Rattle. \nViolist Antoine Tamestit is internationally recognized as a leading soloist\, recitalist\, and chamber musician beloved for his unsurpassed technique and the much-vaunted beauty of his richly coloured tone. His broad repertoire ranges from Baroque to the present\, and his strong commitment to contemporary music is reflected in numerous premieres of new works. \nPianist Shai Wosner has attracted international recognition for his exceptional artistry\, musical integrity\, and creative insight. His performances of a broad range of repertoire – from Beethoven and Schubert to Ligeti and the music of today – reflect a degree of virtuosity and intellectual curiosity that has made him a favorite among audiences and critics\, who note his “keen musical mind and deep musical soul.” (NPR) \nProgram:\nAntonín Dvořák: Legends\, op. 59\, B. 117\, nos. 1-3 (arr. Wosner)\nJohannes Brahms: Clarinet Trio in A Minor\, op. 114 (arr. Wosner)\nJohannes Brahms: Selections from Hungarian Dances\, WoO 1 (arr. Fröst)\nGeorges Bizet: “Tarantelle” from 20 Mélodies (arr.
