DESCRIPTION:Surprisingly\, the phrase “New Music” was first introduced in the early 1930s by Viennese composers Arnold Schonberg and Anton Webern\, but we have always been delighted – and sometimes challenged – by new developments in art music. In this concert\, you’ll hear various works from this seminal period in the history of “new music\,” centred around the rarely-heard and perhaps oddly-scored Suite\, Op. 29 by Arnold Schoenberg\, written for 3 clarinets\, violin\, viola\, cello\, and piano.
