DESCRIPTION:Longtime Chamberfest friends and collaborators\, the Gryphon Trio celebrates 30 years together with a pearl of a program. They will reprise some of their favourite musical moments from Haydn’s Trio in C major\, Dvorak’s famous Dumky Trio\, Ukrainian composer Skoryk’s Melody\, plus music by Ottawa’s Kelly-Marie Murphy and Robert Rival (an Ottawa premiere!). They complete the programme with Schubert’s intimate yet towering Trio in B-flat Major. These JUNO award-winning fan favourites capture audiences around the world with their highly refined\, dynamic performances of both traditional and contemporary repertoire (they’ve commissioned over 100 new works!)\, championing contemporary composers and “redefin[ing] chamber music for the 21st century.”
