DESCRIPTION:The Lafayette has achieved more than 30 years as an ensemble – without a single change of personnel. Coaching with major quartets followed by important awards led to an enduring career. The LSQ have been artists-in-residence at the University of Victoria since 1991. \nThe Saguenay (formed in 1989 as the Alcan) has developed a reputation for excellence throughout Canada and internationally since its formation over twenty five years ago. Based in Chicoutimi\, Québec\, it receives the unconditional support of the Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean. \nThe two quartets have played together numerous times during the course of their quartet careers and have a special musical bond and creative friendship. \nNiels Gade\, String Octet in F Major\, Op. 17\nAirat Ichmouratov\, String Octet in G Minor\, Op. 56\, “The Letter”\n– – –\nMendelssohn\, Octet in E-flat Major\, Op. 20\n  \n
