SUMMARY:Mooredale Concerts | The Heath Quartet
DESCRIPTION:The dynamic and charismatic Heath Quartet is considered one of the most exciting British chamber ensembles of the moment. In 2013\, it became the first ensemble in 15 years to win the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artists Award. In 2016\, their recording (Tippett’s string quartets) won Gramophones’ Chamber Disc of the Year. \nNotable performances have included a complete Beethoven Cycle at the Kilkenny Arts Festival\, the world premiere of a Sir John Tavener work at the BBC Proms\, concerts at the Beethovenfest Bonn\, Musée d’Orsay and Louvre Auditorium (Paris)\, Wigmore Hall\, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center (New York)\, deSingel Arts Centre (Antwerp)\, Vara Konserthus (Sweden)\, Berlin Konzerthaus\, Esterházy Palace\, and Musikverein and Konzerthaus (Vienna). \nThe quartet has worked with many talented collaborators including Ian Bostridge\, Adrian Brendel\, Michael Collins\, Stephen Hough\, and the Tokyo Quartet. They are professors of chamber music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. \nTheir program will include string quartets by Mozart C Major\, K. 465 “Dissonance”\, Britten No. 1 in D Major\, Op. 25\, and Beethoven C Major\, Op. 59\, No. 3.
