SUMMARY:KITCHENER-WATERLOO SYMPHONY | Tales in Sound [*POSTPONED]
DESCRIPTION:Tales in Sound \nAndrei Feher\, conductor \nHétu: Symphony No. 4\nVaughan Williams: The Lark Ascending\nDebussy: Petite suite \nMusic inspired by poems and stories is the hallmark of this colourful program. Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending is full of folk melodies evoking the glorious image of the rolling British countryside\, and features Concertmaster Bénédicte Lauzière as violin soloist. Originally written for piano duet\, the orchestral version of Debussy’s Petite Suite is vivid and expressive. Though not inspired by a poem or story\, the instruments in Hétu’s masterful Symphony No. 4 embody characters\, and he plays with contrasts between movements and themes.
